In 1999, our journey to success commenced when Mr. Arshad Mehmood and Mr. Gulzaman Abbasi established a pioneering TUCK Shop at the PSO petrol station along the river edge in Jhelum. This marked the inception of the first-ever shop at a petrol station engaging in such a diverse business model and achieving significant sales. People began viewing it as a comprehensive supermarket experience. This project set a trend, introducing the concept of a TUCK shop with an extensive product range at petrol pumps across Pakistan. The U-Mart brand was officially established in 2007, and the inaugural U-Mart branch opened its doors on January 17, 2008, situated on Main G.T Road in Kharian. In its initial year, U-Mart offered a product range comprising 400 to 500 items. In response to the dynamic market and customer demands, we swiftly decided to broaden our product range. Consequently, by 2010, the number of items on offer had expanded to 1000.
On October 12, 2012, the TUCK shop was relocated to a prime location in Jhelum, rebranded as U-Mart, maintaining the same commitment to service with an even wider array of products. Subsequently, on November 27, 2020, a U-Mart branch was inaugurated at T-chowk Rawat, Islamabad. Unfortunately, due to ongoing area development and road construction delays, security concerns, and challenging customer access, the branch had to be closed. Undeterred, on April 28, 2022, U-Mart opened a new branch in Sarai Alamgir, embodying the same vigor and vision. On July 28, 2023, a significant milestone unfolded for our company. The Jhelum branch underwent a transformative relocation to a premium space within A&G Mall, evolving into a mega project. This new endeavor boasts expansive parking facilities, an extensive array of products, and a remarkable influx of customers. The move to this prime location reinforces our commitment to providing an unparalleled shopping experience and further solidifies our position as a leading retail establishment.
